In the Mara River, hippo submerges at the approach of a vehicle only to surface seconds later to snort and grumble their displeasure. Seemingly, the drowsy crocodile sunbathe on the riverbanks, mouth agape, and waiting with subtle cunning for prey at which to strike with lightning swiftness. But this richness of fauna, this profusion of winged beauty and the untouched fragility of the landscape, are all subordinate to the Mara's foremost attraction, the march of the wildebeest.

Located near the equator, the country enjoys a predominantly tropical climate, making it a year-round destination. Coastal regions, like Mombasa and Diani, boast warm and humid conditions, perfect for beach lovers, with temperatures averaging around 30°C (86°F). Inland areas, including Nairobi, experience a more temperate climate, characterized by cooler nights and pleasant daytime temperatures, often hovering around 20-25°C (68-77°F). The best time to visit Kenya's renowned wildlife reserves, such as the Maasai Mara and Amboseli National Park, is during the dry season from June to October when animals gather around water sources for prime safari viewing. However, those seeking lush landscapes and baby animals should consider the wetter months from November to May. Kenya's climate caters to a wide range of interests, promising a memorable experience for every traveler.
